Hello, I’m Debbie

If you’ve found this page, you’re likely dealing with emotional, behaviour, or training issues with your cat or dog. Its a really hard place to be but there is so much we can do!
Don’t worry, I’m here to help!
I offer individual, tailored solutions for many behavioural conditions in different species. My goal is to help you understand why your pet behaves the way they do, all without judgement.

As a highly experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse, I ensure each solution is carefully designed to meet your pet’s unique needs. Whether you’re facing aggression, anxiety, or other behavioural challenges, my compassionate approach will guide you toward positive changes.

Together, we will create a fully supported plan that leads to a happier, less stressful life for you and your pet. In addition, I’ll be here to offer ongoing assistance and follow-up, so you’re never alone in managing your pet’s behavioural journey.

Meet the Team

Debbie Anslow – CCAB, ATI, RVN

I have been a registered veterinary nurse for over 20 years and worked with pets and their people specifically with behaviour issues for almost 10 years. I’m a very open and genuine person and have a true passion for helping animals and people communicate more constructively.

I live in Gloucestershire with my family including Rodney the big-nosed mini bull terrier. I have been guardian to all sorts of animals from fish to rats to horses all through my life and can honestly say that if you think you’ve made a mess of things and it’s all your fault, I’ll bet I’ve been there! I once (as a child!!) tried to revive one of my pet mice who had been attacked by my cat by putting him into the hot oven. I can tell you know that it didn’t work!

  • I have a range of qualifications and accreditations in the animal care and training sector
  • PG.Dip – Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Edinburgh
  • B.Sc Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science from the University of the West of England
  • NVQ II & III in Animal Care awarded by City and Guilds
  • N.Cert in Animal Behaviour from Harper Adams University – ESVPS Nurse Certificate in Animal Behaviour

I study at least 200 hours of continuing professional development each year and I have worked training with a wide range of species including; Rats, chickens, baboons, meerkats, lemurs, giraffes, rabbits as well as cats and dogs.

I work only from referral from your Veterinary Surgeon to ensure I can work as holistically as possible to ensure all medical, nutritional, and emotional issues can be managed within the same plan.

Lindsey – Administration

As an animal lover, I am always keen to help our clients find harmony in their homes.

As an organiser, I help to keep Debbie on track and allow her to spend her time helping you and your pets.

What you can expect from me

I offer honesty without fluff, no judgement, and support based on the most up-to-date scientific methods.
My approach never involves fear, coercion, or pain.
I aim to teach you how to communicate more effectively with your pet.
This allows them to make better emotional decisions and exist more harmoniously in the complex human world.

What I expect from you

I value full disclosure and honesty about all the history you have with your pet.
Knowledge is power, and the more I know, the more I can help. Even if you’ve used methods like a rolled-up newspaper or spray bottle, as long as I know, I can help.
I will not judge or belittle you, my aim is to support you and your animal companions.

What is a clinical animal behaviourist?

I’m like a human psychologist or counsellor for your pet.
First, I gather all the information you provide.
Then, I use that information to create an easy-to-follow plan. This plan helps you and your pet live more peacefully. Moreover, it’s based on up-to-date scientific methods and learning theory.

Get in touch and I will do my best to assist you with any questions you may have. We also have socials you can check out too.
